Nike Air Jordan Retro 6 Special Edition Singles Day

Project honouring the beautiful design of the Air Jordan 6 ‘Single’s Day’, celebrating women and femininity worldwide. Based on the original AJ6 designed by the amazing Tinker Hatfield.
The shoe has very intricate details, and I wanted to capture the hard work of the designers, by carefully illustrating each segment of the pattern .
In order the make the drawing more active, I decided to include a series of characters that I imagine would rock these shoes in real life.
Alongside the illustration, I wanted to put together a minute long video mashup depicting my interpretation of what the shoe represents to me. Each still was constructed in Procreate and then imported into Splice where I was able to create the video you see below:
